Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed veteran hospitality professional Hayden Edgtton as General Manager of the new Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya.

The 262-room property opened on 6 February 2016, delivering the first five-star hospitality experience on pristine Na Jomtien Beach. It is a statement in elite beachfront accommodation, gourmet cuisine and superb destination choices such as yachting and island exploration.

“Hayden is an experienced, passionate and hugely respected hotelier who has long been an integral part of the Mövenpick family,” said Andrew Langdon, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Senior Vice President Asia. “He has a great understanding of what makes us one of the world’s leading upscale hospitality brands, and that invaluable knowledge and experience will be put to excellent use getting the Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya off to a flying start.”

Edgtton has honed his hospitality, creative and business acumen from more than 20 years in the industry, beginning with his first job in 1994, at Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts in New Zealand, and continuing in Vietnam, Australia and the Middle East.

In 2004, he opened and operated his own Japanese restaurant and lifestyle magazine in Australia. His meticulous attention to detail, respect for local cultures and people, and management skills led him to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in 2010 as Executive Assistant Manager of the pre-opening team at Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai.

Edgtton was promoted to General Manager in 2012 and oversaw its successful opening. Under his leadership the property was awarded top spot in the New Hotel Construction and Design category at the Arabian Property Awards 2014-15. It was also honoured as a Green Globe-certified sustainable business.

Hayden said: “It’s a great privilege to be entrusted with the launch of any Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. This job is particularly exciting, as Pattaya stands on the cusp of great changes towards a more family friendly destination, and we aim to be an agent of change in that regard.”

“This is the dawn of an exciting new era of upscale hospitality at beautiful Na Jomtien Beach. What also awaits is an immaculate, highly personalised natural service that blends Swiss efficiency with Thai warmth, and I look forward to ensuring that’s what we deliver to all of our guests.”
