Marco Polo Hotels appoints Kurt Macher Group Director – Projects

Marco Polo Hotels has recently appointed Mr. Kurt Macher as Group Director – Projects.

An Austrian, Kurt brings with him a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, having held a number of managerial positions with hotel groups such as Four Seasons and The Peninsula Group. Prior to joining Marco Polo Hotels, Kurt was Resident Manager of The Pan Pacific, Marina Square in Singapore, its flagship property, for the past two years.

Kurt will work hand in hand with Operations and Technical Services and take an active role in assisting with the planning and execution of the Group’s upcoming Marco Polo and Niccolo projects. At the same time, he will be instrumental in supporting the enhancement of brand standards in current operations.

“Kurt’s contribution to the Group will only further strengthen our projects and operations departments and help to improve an already stellar service level at each of our 14 properties across Asia,” said Mr. Eric Waldburger, President of Marco Polo Hotels. “We are excited to have Kurt help prepare the organisation for the next stage of our growth and development with the new Marco Polo and Niccolo hotel pipelines.”

Macher expressed his enthusiasm in joining the organisation: “I am able to leverage over two decades in luxury hospitality to enhance the service standards across the entire group.
