Solage Hotels & Resorts, a California-based resort management company, has announced the appointment of Troy Smith as Director of Sales to the brand’s flagship property, Solage Calistoga. Smith, who brings 25 years of sales experience in the luxury hospitality industry, most recently with InterContinental San Francisco, joins the company’s leadership team.
In his new role, Smith will oversee all aspects of the property’s corporate group and leisure sales and lead sales development for continued growth in business in 2015 and beyond. Solage Calistoga, located in the heart of Napa Valley, features 89 contemporary guest studios; the 20,000-square-foot, recently renovated Spa Solage and the six-time Michelin Star-rated Solbar restaurant.
“We are pleased to have Troy Smith join Solage Calistoga as Director of Sales,” said Marcus Mueller, General Manager of Solage Calistoga. “Troy will be instrumental in leading our Sales Team to success, as well as creating the difference between a nice stay and a memorable experience for corporate groups and our leisure guests.”
Prior to joining Solage Calistoga, Smith served as Area Director of Group Sales at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins and InterContinental San Francisco. Under his leadership, he exceeded group sales goals for over six years while selling two very distinct hotels in the highly competitive San Francisco market. Previously, he served as Senior Account Executive at the San Francisco Marriott, and Assistant Director of Sales for Interstate Hotels and Resort Corporation. Smith is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association, Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International and the California Society of Association Executives.
