Joerg RodigFour Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler has announced the appointment of Joerg Rodig as General Manager. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a vast amount of experience, with the majority of his Four Seasons career as Director of Finance.

A perfect fit for Whistler and certainly no stranger, for years Rodig and his wife Anja and their three kids have taken advantage of the short drive from Vancouver. Whether it was skiing the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb in the winter, or biking and hiking in the summer time, Rodig is not only excited for new challenges that come along with a ski resort but thrilled to call Whistler home. His passion is not only for the destination but also for the people. Rodig says, “The one thing I’ve noticed about Whistler is that the people here are just extraordinary and our guests can expect true warmth and friendliness here.”

Born and raised in Dresden in Germany, Rodig came from a food and beverage family with this parents and grandparents in the restaurant business. Relocating to the UK to manage a restaurant west of London, Rodig soon switched focus and attended Oxford Brookes University, where he earned his degree and a job with Four Seasons Hotel Boston. Although he made his start in food and beverage, after only 4 months in a management opportunity became available in Boston’s finance department, which placed Rodig on a successful path in finance for next 13 years before becoming a Hotel Manager. This is one of the aspects Rodig has come to love; he says, `In hospitality, there is no set career path any longer- there are many routes to build and exciting career.”

Still passionate about food and beverage as well as burning off the results of such passion, Rodig’s lifestyle is an active one full of skiing, road cycling, and running in a few full and half marathons every year. Though Rodig says “my running schedule may slow down a bit as I now have hotel to run.”
