Alon Hershkowitz named Executive Sous Chef of The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Cub

Alon Hershkowitz has been named Executive Sous Chef of The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Cub. Hershkowitz’s duties as executive sous chef include everything from creating new menu items and overseeing kitchen staff to managing all culinary operations while exploring his passion of discovering world flavors.

“The Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club is thrilled to have such a talented chef join our team to share his culture, passion and creativity with our guests,” said director of restaurant operations, Mark Heimann. “With Chef Hershkowitz at the helm, guests of our five on-property restaurants are in for an unforgettable experience.”

A native to Israel, hailing from a small town near Tel Aviv, Hershkowitz brings more than 27 years of culinary expertise and a noteworthy education gained at Tadmor School of Culinary Arts and Hotelkeeping in Israel to The Vinoy.

With an extensive knowledge in Jewish dietary laws, Hershkowitz hosted the 50th anniversary party for the Israeli Consulate in Miami Beach and led the charge of the first kosher kitchen at Eden Roc Miami Beach. He also served on the opening teams for both The Ritz-Carlton South Beach in Miami, Fla. and The Ritz-Carlton Herzliya in Israel. Hershkowitz’s resume includes quality hotel culinary experience at the Sheraton Hotel in Tel Aviv, the Westlake Village Hyatt in California and The National Hotel in Miami where he cooked for celebrities and top media outlets from Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx and Hillary Clinton to the Food Network.
