Food and beverage is an increasingly important part of a hotel guest’s total customer experience and it is expected to continue to contribute positive revenue growth within Scandic. To further focus on and strengthen this strategic area, Mats Åstrand has been recruited as new VP Food & Beverage.

Today, Mats Åstrand is Director of Operations at Fazer Food Services AB, which operates more than 200 restaurants in Sweden. Mats has extensive experience from the service industry including his position as President & CEO of Addici Group. Mats will start on September 1, 2015.

“Scandic already has a very popular offering within food and beverage at close to 230 hotels in the Nordic region. We are now in a phase where we want to improve our offering and service further to meet our customers’ demands going forward. Mats Åstrand has broad experience from working in consumer-oriented operations where quality and service development has been central. This gives him an excellent foundation for his new position at Scandic”, says Frank Fiskers, President & CEO Scandic Hotels.

“I am very much looking forward to starting at Scandic. I have vast experience from hotels and restaurants and a great passion for both. My ambition is for Scandic’s restaurants and hotels to develop together so that guests enjoy a positive total experience when they visit,” says Mats Åstrand, future VP Food & Beverage,  Scandic Hotels.
