Courtyard Seattle Southcenter has announced Owen Leinbach as its new general manager.
With nearly 30 years of Marriott experience, Leinbach brings a commitment to brand loyalty, a passion for marketing and extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry. Since beginning his career with Marriott in 1986 as a catering manager at El Paso Marriott, Leinbach has held a number of titles in various departments, making him more than prepared for his upcoming role at one of the premier hotels in Tukwila, WA.
In 1989, Leinbach held the position of sales manager at San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront, then pioneered a new role at Marriott’s regional office in North California as the director of lead referral, promoting cross selling between brands before the current sales deployment model was formed. Leinbach then went on to further his sales experience by serving as senior sales manager at the convention network hotels in San Francisco/Anaheim and San Diego.
Broadening his leadership experience, Leinbach served as director of sales and marketing at Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa and eventually as director of marketing at Santa Clara Marriott, where he successfully opened the first Event Booking Center for the newly formed market sales effort.
In 2000, Leinbach made the move north to the Seattle market, where he served as the area director of marketing for the Seattle Airport Marriott from 2000 to 2004. He then took a new role as the director of the Seattle Event Booking Center until 2007. Moving to Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Lake in 2007, he served as director of sales before being promoted to assistant general manager. Leinbach then joined the opening team at Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square in 2010 as the assistant general manager.
Leinbach has served on the board and as president of the Skal International Seattle chapter. He also has been active with the convention and visitor bureau and local chambers of commerce to promote Marriott. He has been recognized as Sales Leader of the Year during his time with the Event Booking Center in Seattle and continues to champion efforts for the Business Council as Chairman of the Texas Hold-Em Poker events benefiting Seattle Children’s Hospital.
