Bryan Chiu new Executive Director of Events at InterContinental Hong Kong

Bryan ChiuJean-Jacques Reibel, Managing Director, InterContinental Hong Kong is pleased to announce that Bryan Chiu, currently Executive Assistant Manager, will replace Charis Yim as of April 20, 2015 as the new Executive Director of Events.

Bryan Chiu is a true veteran of InterContinental Hong Kong, having first joined the hotel in 1988 when it was The Regent Hong Kong.

With a higher diploma in Hotel Management from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Bryan then worked his way up through various positions throughout the hotel’s diverse restaurants. He served as Manager of Yü Restaurant from 1999-2003.  Then from 2003-2005, he was Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.

From 2005 – 2007, he spread his wings to experience hotel life across the harbour when he spent  two and a half years as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, where he was on the pre-opening team.

However, he then rejoined InterContinental Hong Kong as Director Of Food & Beverage in Fall 2007.  He was then promoted to Executive Assistant Manager – F&B in 2011 and then to Executive Assistant Manager of the hotel in 2013.

Bryan has been instrumental in the positioning of the hotel as a destination for exceptional dining. Under his tenure heading Food & Beverage, three of the hotel’s restaurants have been recognized with Michelin stars, along with a myriad of other awards from prestigious publications including the Forbes Travel Guide and Wine Spectator Magazine.

With over 25 years in the Food and Beverage and hotel industry in various roles, Bryan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role heading the hotel’s vast Events Department, which is the largest hotel banqueting operation in Hong Kong, inclusive of eleven harbourview function rooms and the InterContinental Ballroom (one of the largest pillarless ballrooms in Hong Kong) with 22,626 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel is acclaimed as one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious and glamorous venues for weddings, gala dinners, corporate meetings and events. In addition, the hotel’s Events team can organize meetings, receptions, and gala dinners (both large and small) anywhere in Hong Kong, with its outside catering operations.
