Brett Forshag

A New Orleans hotel executive for the more than 25 years, Brett Forshag has been named director of sales & marketing at the InterContinental New Orleans, announced John Romano, general manager of the hotel.

“Brett is widely known as one of the very best and most experienced hospitality executives in the New Orleans market and well beyond,” said Romano. “We are thrilled he has joined our team at the InterContinental as we continue to re-position the property after the recent $28 million renovation,” Romano added.

The AAA Four Diamond property is managed by Dimension Development Company, headquartered in Natchitoches, LA. In addition to upgrades of the hotel’s 484 guest rooms and suites, the $28 million renovation created a new lobby on the ground floor level and added 12,000 square feet of meeting space on the second floor where the lobby was formerly located.

A native of New Orleans, Forshag joins the InterContinental New Orleans with 26 years of hotel sales experience. He most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for HRI Lodging, one of the 50 largest hotel management companies in the U.S. In that position, he worked on branded and boutique properties ranging from focus service hotels to exclusive resorts.

Forshag graduated from LSU, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and played on the 1985 LSU baseball team, which won the SEC baseball championship that year under legendary coach Skip Bertman.
