Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills announces the appointment of Jennifer Newmark to the Director of Catering position at the luxury property known for hosting high-profile charity events, globally branded activations and product integrations, media and creative industry parties, as well as, celebrity aligned entertainment industry affairs.
Jennifer Newmark comes to Sofitel from the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA where she managed catering and events for over a decade. She will oversee the hotel’s revenues by prospecting for new accounts and be charged with further development of existing accounts. Newmark will develop and implement catering sales strategies, budgets, action plans, goals and objectives for the Catering department and report directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Ms. Newmark hails from the Northern California where she worked for the Omni San Francisco Hotel and the Canterbury Hotel in San Francisco, CA. Ms. Newmark holds an O.A. degree in Culinary Arts from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.

In other news, Mr. Aurelien (Aure) Tara, former Catering and Meetings Manager at Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, has been promoted to Senior Catering Sales Manager. Prior to Mr.Tara’s start at Sofitel in 2010, among other posts, he held the position of Convention Services Manager at Radisson Hotel Los Angeles Airport and Assistant Banquet Manager for Novotel Hotel Accor Group in Aix-en-Provence, France. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management and Marketing from Marseille Hotel School in France, as well as, a Hospitality diploma.
