Gordon James Gorman takes position as GM at Holiday Inn Al Qasr, Riyadh

Gordon James GormanThe Al Hokair Group has announced the appointment of Scotsman Gordon James Gorman as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Al Qasr, Riyadh.

A veteran global hotelier, Gorman brings to his second Riyadh posting 35 years of hospitality management experience gained with leading international hotel brands, including Holiday Inn Hotels in Bahrain and Bangkok, and with Hilton International, Accor, Intercontinental, Dusit and Rosewood.

His globetrotting career spanning four decades, has included operational and General Manager positions in Glasgow, Nairobi, Mombasa, Abuja, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Hua-Hin, Seoul, Bahrain, Dubai, and in Riyadh, where he managed the operations of the ultra luxurious Al Faisaliah Hotel and Residence, Rosewoods market leading and multi award winning properties in the Middle East from 2004-2006, before moving to Pakistan to oversee the renovation and market repositioning of Karachi’s iconic Avari Towers Hotel as General Manager, a position he held until 2013.

Gorman is a Master Hotelier member of the International Chaines de Roitisseurs, a certified TQM (Total Quality Management) Leadership instructor, and a former two term President and founder of FBAT, the Food and Beverage Association of Thailand.
