Trio of appointments at Hotel Indigo Birmingham

Hotel Indigo BirminghamThree is the magic number at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill and Hotel Indigo at The Cube, Birmingham, as the venues reach their third birthdays and welcome three new senior appointments into their team.

 
Hotelier and former Chocolatier John Lambourne-Richardson joins as General Manager, Veruschka as Food and Beverage Director and Simon Johnson joins as Executive Head Chef.

John, who has roots in Birmingham stemming from his ancestors the Holtes, who owned Aston Hall, brings with him over 22 years experience from within the leisure and corporate hotels market.

Brought up in North Devon, John began his career studying catering and hospitality in Bath. Since then he has held hotel managerial positions across the UK, including in the Lake District, Cotswolds, Yorkshire, Winchester and Salisbury. Following this John moved on to own and run his own chocolate and patisserie business before making his return to the hotel and leisure industry to take up his role as General Manager of Marco Pierre White and Hotel Indigo in Birmingham.

John commented: “It’s such a popular venue with huge potential to push the boundaries for customer experience. I’ve joined at a very exciting time with planned investment from the owners allowing us to enhance the product, offer and service. We have big plans and some great ideas that I look forward to delivering.”

John is assisted with the restaurant by Food and Beverage Director Veruschka, who brings with her a wealth of experience from managerial roles within branded restaurants in London.

Leading the kitchen team is new Executive Head Chef Simon Johnson who joined the team earlier in the year. Simon’s award winning culinary career has spanned both the UK and Europe, including working for large hotel groups to Michelin starred restaurants.

John added: “With the new team in place at both the restaurant and the hotel, we will continue to drive the business forward and I look forward to welcoming customers old and new through the doors.”

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill sits on the 25th floor of The Cube, with Hotel Indigo taking up both the 23rd and 24th floors. The venues celebrate their third birthday on December 1st.
