The UK’s Premier Inn is set to bring its brand to Singapore as part of its international expansion plans.
Scheduled to open in mid-2016, the 300-room Premier Inn Singapore Beach Road will be strategically located close to the cultural districts of Haji Lane and Arab Street as well as the bustling Marina Bay Central Business District and will be the only international hotel within a kilometre of the Singapore Sports Hub. The hotel will feature amenities that will cater to both business and leisure travellers including a swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym as well as meeting facilities. Designed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing economy travel segment in the region, the Singapore property aims to provide Premier Inn’s value-for-money experience.
“Singapore has a competitive hotel landscape set within a strong growth market in Southeast Asia. It is therefore a vital part in our international expansion strategy and will support our growth in the region,” said Aly Shariff, Senior Vice President Operations, Premier Inn Asia
Premier Inn Singapore Beach Road joins Premier Inn’s growing portfolio of properties worldwide as it plans to have 50 hotels in Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East by 2018. Premier Inn currently operates over 670 hotels globally including five hotels in the Middle East and three in India.
“Premier Inn is the UK’s favourite hotel company, which guarantees guests a great night’s sleep. Opening new hotels in these three key regions is now part of our long-term strategy to further enhance and develop the Premier Inn brand globally and we are confident it will be well received in these markets by value-conscious travellers,” said Erik Van Keulen, Senior Vice President Development, Premier Inn Asia Pacific.
The expansion plan will see the group with around 10,000 new rooms by 2018 in Singapore, India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Middle East across key cities including Bali, Bogor, Jakarta, Makassar, Surabaya and Yogjakarta (Indonesia), Bangkok (Thailand), Chennai, Goa and Mumbai (India), Dubai and Sharjah (UAE) , Muscat (Oman), Doha (Qatar) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
