Steigenberger signs agreement for seventh hotel in China

Steigenberger Hotel GroupThe agreement signed by the Steigenberger Hotel Group for the Steigenberger Hotel Changchun represents the seventh such agreement to be concluded in China. The group celebrated its brand debut in the country with the opening of the Hotel Maximilian managed by Steigenberger in Beijing in June 2014. Five further projects, four Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and one InterCityHotel, are already under construction and will be realised between 2015 and 2017.

The Steigenberger Hotel Changchun, which will offer more than 130 rooms of 40 square meteres in size and 15 suites, is scheduled to receive its first guests from the spring of 2016 onwards. The hotel will also feature a spa and gym area complete with swimming pool and extending over a total area of 1650 m².

There will be just under 2000 m² of bars and restaurants, including a Paulaner Brauhaus, a Chinese Restaurant, a Lobby Bar, an Executive Lounge and a Sky Bar. The 1300 m² Banqueting Area will comprise a Ballroom and nine further rooms.

Changchun is located in the North-East of the People’s Republic of China and is the capital of the Province of Jilin. It has more than seven million inhabitants and is an important centre of the automobile industry. 

As was the case with the Hotel Maximilian managed by Steigenberger in Beijing, which has already opened, the Huayang Group will be Steigenberger’s contractual partner for the venture.
