Conrad Macao’s Dynasty 8 restaurant has appointed Mak Kip Fu as Executive Chef – Chinese Kitchen. Located in Sands Cotai Central, Dynasty 8 offers award-winning Chinese cuisine for discerning guests from all around the world. In addition to overseeing Dynasty 8, Mak will also look after the Chinese banqueting kitchens for Sands Cotai Central an integrated resort located on Macao’s Cotai Strip.
Originally from Hong Kong, Chef Mak has enjoyed a long culinary career spanning more than 35 years, and has worked for many five-star luxury hotels and restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macao, SAR China. During his career Chef Mak was instrumental in leading the way for fine Chinese dining including taking the helm at the legendary three-Michelin starred Lung King Heen restaurant in Hong Kong, two-Michelin starred Zi Yat Heen restaurant here in Macao, and award-winning restaurants’ Yan Ting in Singapore and T’ang Court in Hong Kong.
He is one of the few master chefs that originally handled the woks at Fook Lam Moon, considered one of the best Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong. In addition he has also participated in many international food festivals to showcase Chinese cuisine in Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Indonesia, Thailand and Korea. His desire to be innovative whilst still blending traditional Chinese flavours is what makes his cuisine so sought after by discerning diners from around the world. Over the next few months he will be focusing on creating spectacular Chinese feasts for the upcoming festive season.
