Pier One Sydney Harbour adds six to Operations team

With the beautification underway, General Manager Kim Mahaffy welcomes new additions to the team at Pier One Sydney Harbour. Hand picked, the new operations team is exactly like nothing else in Australia, they understand guests’ need for an experience and are ready to exceed their already high expectations.

The announcement is another transition point in the transformation of the hotel, with the new lobby and reception opening its doors this month, the new bar to welcome guests in the coming weeks and the highly anticipated new restaurant to showcase innovative cuisine by the end of the year.

“I am excited with the direction we are taking Pier One Sydney Harbour – creating an experiential hotel that stands apart from the ordinary, developing a hotel that delivers on the extra-ordinary for our guests and associates alike. Harry Singh

A passionate soccer fan, guitarist and former roadie for bands like Deep Purple, Pier One Sydney Harbour’s Director of Operations knows how to roll out the red carpet and entertainment for every occasion. Hailing from India, Harry Singh’s career spans over a decade across the globe, many years of which have been with the Marriott International Group in India and Australia. With guests that include Bill Clinton, he understands the expectations of the highest profile of clients. Harry’s extreme eye for detail not only creates defining moments in every guests’ stay, but his passion is second to none in ensuring every experience is authentic, stylish and exactly like nothing else.

Brendan Hamson

Emmie has a wealth of experience as Business Development Manager across both Mirvac Hotels & Resorts and Accor Hotels and most recently as Corporate Sales Manager with Marriott International. Her passion for travel and exploring the extraordinary makes her the perfect fit for the hotel’s new direction and establishing the most intricate, authentic and avant-garde experiences.

Chris James

When the Business Development Sales Manager – MICE has also been a DJ in Ibiza, you know there will always be exceptional audio at any Pier One event. Chris James has extensive experience working overseas and has managed countless international grand openings. His established strengths in event management allow him to direct projects with ease whilst satisfying clients’ needs and delivering optimum results. Chris’ previous experience includes working at City Hotel & Lane Bar in London and Sapphires Sound & Light with marketing and special events his forte.

Feroza Saleem-Martin

With her head in the clouds and a luge to ride down, Pier One Sydney Harbour’s Conference & Catering Manager has worked extensively in events and catering for some of the more unique hotels and restaurants abroad. From a mountain restaurant to a volcano hotel, Feroza has always had her feet planted firmly on the ground, bringing incomparable conferencing and events to light. Her experience across a broad range of international hotels ensures she provides only the finest of events, leading staff to exceptional service and creating welcoming environments as she caters for guests’ every need – with a glass of champagne in hand of course!

Tanmay Joshi

With over a decade of international five-star hospitality experience under his feet, Tanmay will always go into bat to deliver the most exceptional service and leadership across bars, banqueting and restaurants.
