Fairmont Empress ‘Get Rest, Give Back’ package pays it forward

The Fairmont Empress is empowering guests with a charitable and impactful choice this festive season through its newly introduced Get Rest, Give Back package. When a guest chooses to book his or her stay through the charitable package, the hotel will donate $50 per night to Our Place Society, a devoted inner-city mission which helps feed some of the area’s most vulnerable citizens.

The team at The Fairmont Empress is also making a strong commitment to its local community by promising to volunteer as breakfast servers at Our Place if $500 or more in donations is raised from package bookings.

“This season we are doing something different by giving guests the power to make a direct impact in the local community,” explains Angela Rafuse-Tahir, the hotel’s Director, Sales and Marketing. “It’s that time of year when many people rely on Our Place to receive a meal while staying warm. When guests select the Get Rest, Give Back package, their choice translates into extending a much deserved meal to those in need. It’s something that our guests can feel very good about, and our colleagues can be proud to volunteer service hours.”

“The Fairmont Empress is an iconic landmark of Victoria’s inner-city beauty,” says Don Evans, executive director of Our Place. “When life is treating you well, there’s no better place to stay. But when life has brought you down into poverty and despair, Our Place is there to provide a hand up by offering hope, love and belonging. We feel privileged to be partnering with The Fairmont Empress for this wonderful offer of giving to the less fortunate.”

The Get Rest, Give Back package starts at CAD$249 per night and is available from November 15, 2014 to January 1, 2015.
