Marriott International has appointed Julius Robinson to Vice President for the Autograph Collection, the company’s exclusive portfolio of independent hotels. In his role, Julius’s leadership will drive, define and execute global strategy for Autograph Collection. He will also play an integral role in the future development and global growth of the portfolio around the world.
Exactly like nothing else, the vision behind Autograph Collection was to create an evolving ensemble of strikingly independent four and five star hotels. Each hotel experience is hand selected for its bold originality, rich character and uncommon details. The more than 60 passionately independent hotels are filtered through the lens of five distinct categories of travel experiences including: Boutique Arts, Iconic Historic, Boutique Chic, Luxury Redefined, and Retreat.
Julius comes to Autograph Collection as a seasoned hotelier with vast knowledge of revenue management, sales, business development and operations. He brings more than twenty years of experience in the hospitality industry and will serve as an advocate for the independent hotel owner and manager within the company’s luxury and lifestyle brand division. Most recently, Julius served as vice president of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, a position which he held for over three years. In addition to his leadership in the company’s brand organization, he has held senior executive roles in global sales and operations.
“Julius’s experience will be a key asset to championing the independent spirit of Autograph Collection and his skill set will be instrumental in the continued growth and success of the portfolio,” said Tina Edmundson, global brand officer for luxury and lifestyle brands for Marriott International.
Autograph Collection is part the Marriott International global portfolio of 18 distinct brands. Launched in January of 2010 as a unique business venture, the Collection currently includes more than 60 extraordinary hotel experiences in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and South America. Due to strong interest from the owner/franchisee community, further expansion is planned for the Middle East/Africa and Central America. It is expected that Autograph Collection will reach 70 hotels by the end of this year and is widely regarded as one of the most successful brand launches in the history of the lodging industry in terms of growth.
