Ellen McGinnis appointed Spa Director at The Omni Grove Park Inn

Ellen McGinnis_1The Omni Grove Park Inn has announced the appointment of Ellen McGinnis as spa director. With more than 20 years of experience in hospitality, spa and wellness, McGinnis is responsible for all operations of The Omni Grove Park Inn’s spa and wellness programming.

This is McGinnis’ second term at The Omni Grove Park Inn. She first held the position of spa director at the Blue Ridge Mountain resort in 2011, where she oversaw the initial launch of The Spa.

“With her strong background in spa and wellness management and familiarity with Omni Hotels & Resorts, Ellen is a tremendous addition to our Inn,” said Barry Sondern, general manager of The Omni Grove Park Inn. “We are excited for her to return to the spa that she originally opened.”

Ellen arrived at The Omni Grove Park Inn from Springs Eternal Spa located at sister property Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford Springs, Pa. At Omni Bedford Springs she oversaw the daily operations of the spa, spa boutique, wellness programs and the salon, in addition to managing special events. She also launched an annual Women’s Wellness Weekend at the resort.

Prior to her position at Omni Bedford Springs Resort, McGinnis served as an industry consultant to establish new divisions, oversee openings, and to develop advances in education and management for spas nationally. Previously, McGinnis held the position of executive vice president of operations at Innovative Spa Management, a North Carolina based company, developing turn-key solutions to meet the needs of hospitality, spa and fitness clients. At Innovative Spa Management, she oversaw daily operations of more than ten resort spa locations. McGinnis got her start in the spa field working for over a decade with Arnold Palmer and IMG, specializing in high-end locations.

Born and raised in Florida, McGinnis attended Saint Mary’s of Notre Dame in Southbend, Ind., and Florida State University.
