Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing opens; overlooks Forbidden City

Renaissance Beijing WangfujingRenaissance Hotels proudly debuts its second hotel in Beijing with the introduction of the 329-room Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing. The stylish new hotel overlooks the famed Forbidden City on historic Wangfujing Street.

Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing joins the Renaissance Beijing Capital in the capital city and a fast-growing portfolio of 18 hotels in China including six in Shanghai and three in Tianjin, with additional locations in Suzhou, Wuhan, Sanya, Huizhou, Guiyan, Chengdu and Hong Kong. The latest opening brings the total number Marriott International offerings to 72 hotels across six brands.

Wangfujing Street has been a center of activity for thousands of years and the pedestrian pathway remains popular to this day with visitors and locals. As one of China’s longest pedestrian streets as well as a heritage site, it is an iconic symbol of Beijing and a “must-see” attraction when visiting the capital city. The new hotel blends history with ultra-modern design in the hotel’s distinctive two-sided building, with one side facing the Forbidden City and the other side facing Wangfujing Street, paying homage to the ancient and modern themes.

The Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel features the latest innovations in design and décor, technology and culinary. The lobby design reflects the 24/7 work patterns of the modern business traveller, allowing for a smooth transitioning from work to relaxation. Each contemporary designed guestroom and suite offers an expressive style with a soothing colour palette, complemented by an artful blend of luxury amenities including plush bedding, flat-screen televisions and complimentary wireless high-speed internet. The hotel’s executive lounge offers sweeping panoramic views of the Forbidden City.

Destination dining includes Hutong Place, an exclusive venue for private dining and entertainment, with imperial Qing Dynasty Palace cuisine; authentic Cantonese cuisine at residential-style signature Chinese restaurant Wanli; signature cocktails and live music at R Bar; fresh open kitchen fare at all-day restaurant Food Studio. 

Distinctive guest programming include the 24-hour Navigator service – a lifestyle hospitality concierge featuring hotel Ambassadors specially trained to bring the local destination to life for guests, and live entertainment events showcasing emerging music, culinary, art and more.

Renaissance Hotels signature R.E.N Meetings program will be offered, with space including the largest ballroom in the area (10,006 square feet) and five additional meeting rooms – all equipped with the very latest technology. For leisure and relaxation, the hotel features an indoor swimming pool, state-of–the-art fitness centre and tranquil spa.
