Outrigger Enterprises Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Skinner as Vice President, Design and Projects. Skinner joined the company on 8 August, 2014, and is based in the Outrigger Asia-Pacific corporate office in Phuket, Thailand and reports to Darren Edmonstone, Outrigger Managing Director, Asia-Pacific.
Skinner’s job responsibilities include leading the design direction for projects Outrigger has planned across the Pacific, Asia and the Indian Ocean. From the planning and design direction of new ‘greenfield’ hotel projects down to redesigns of restaurants and other internal facilities, Skinner will drive brand consistency and help Outrigger create new, innovative and exciting resort products.
With 25 years experience in the design industry, Skinner has been responsible for a large number of international design projects. Core areas of expertise include feasibility, concept planning, architectural and interior design. Most recently, Skinner was design director at The Beaumont Partnership, an interior design consultancy with its head office in Bangkok, Thailand. While there, he was responsible for numerous architectural and interior designs including the concept planning and interior design of Outrigger Mauritius Resort and Spa and concept work for Outrigger Surfers Paradise.
Before that Skinner was equity principal and creative director for Hassell, Bangkok, principal for Hassell in Perth, Western Australia, and hospitality interior and senior designer for GA Design International in London.
“With his excellent concept, design and implementation skills, Peter will help Outrigger fulfill and exceed guest and stakeholder expectations wherever we go,” said Edmonstone. “Peter joins Outrigger at an exciting time of expansion, growth and product innovation.”
Skinner is a graduate architect of Puddy Lee Partnership in Perth and is a Bachelor of Architecture from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. He is also a Registered Architect (Western Australia) and a member of Royal Australian Institute of Architects.
