Benchmark Hospitality International has named Jerry Jensen director of sales and marketing for Hotel Contessa. Les Utley, general manager for the property, a Benchmark Hote located in San Antonio, Texas, made the announcement.
“We are pleased to welcome Jerry to Hotel Contessa,” said Mr. Utley. “He brings with him an impressive background of success in sales leadership, and extensive knowledge of both group and leisure travel markets. He also fully understands the Benchmark ‘Be The Difference’ service culture, having been with our company previously. We are glad to have him join our executive team here in San Antonio.”
Jerry Jensen is a hospitality veteran with more than 30 years of experience in hotel sales and marketing. Previously, Mr. Jensen was director of sales and marketing for Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center of Scottsdale, Arizona. He has served in the same role for a variety of properties throughout the western United States, from large downtown convention hotels to boutique resorts, upscale independent properties and major brands. In addition, he has held area and regional director of sales and marketing positions.
Jensen is a graduate of the University of Houston where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He is a Certified Hospitality Sales Professional, and, in his free time, is a professional jazz musician. He has relocated to San Antonio.
