Luxury resort The 9, opening in downtown Cleveland

Downtown Cleveland continues to thrive with the addition of the luxury resort, The 9. It opens this September, making it a game changer for Cleveland’s reorganization.

Its out-of-the-box amenities and bold designs make it a marquee destination for locals and guests. The former AmeriTrust tower and historic Cleveland Trust Rotunda have been transformed into The 9, which houses the new Metropolitan Hotel for travelers and Concierge Living apartments for local residents. The locally owned grocery store, Heinen’s Market, will be located inside the rotunda. The dining and cocktail environments, combined with the one-of-a-kind special event spaces, will redefine how Clevelanders and their guests live, work and play in the city.

The Metropolitan Hotel is located inside The 9 and is affiliated with Autograph Collection, Marriott International’s exclusive collection of more than 50 independent hotels that have been carefully selected for their chic styles and distinct guest experiences. The hotel has 156 rooms and suites. The 9 offers hotel guests and residents access to an indoor dog park, 24-hour housekeeping, valet and concierge services, spa and gym. Residents of The 9 have the opportunity to choose from 104 spacious Concierge Living apartments.

The 9 features escalated dining at the modern Mediterranean restaurant, Adega, featuring a 12-foot wine vault, chef’s table and the largest outdoor dining patio in the city. It has three private dining rooms for groups up to 80.  The 9 has over 14,000 feet of total event space, all featuring cutting-edge technology, creative menus, entertainment, bold decor and an expert event planning staff. From the 68-seat, high-end Alex Theater to the lavish 5,200-square-foot Mint Ballroom, there are many options for weddings, meetings or special events. During the week, Vault at The 9’s high-energy lounge and Speakeasy can be used for meeting rooms.

“The 9’s style and amenities create a cosmopolitan lifestyle, setting it apart from any other luxury resort in the country,” said Greg Geis, CEO of GEIS Companies. “Bold and unexpected is the norm at The 9, blurring the lines between everyday and escape,” Geis added.

Located in the basement of the rotunda, there are four historic bank vaults. Inside the extremely large, circular steel-and-glass doors, there are safety deposit rooms that formerly belonged to famous Clevelanders. The historic underground vault space has been transformed into the prohibition-era cocktail bar, Vault. Locals and guests of Cleveland will enjoy a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience. Additionally, completely separated from Vault, there is the exclusive Speakeasy. It is invitation-only, and will only cater to Cleveland’s elite. Guests that want to have a drink 150 feet above the street, may do so at Azure. It is the largest rooftop bar and sundeck in the city. Extensive views of Cleveland’s skylines can be seen from the roof of the newly renovated 1010 building on Euclid Ave.
