Nira Montana to open in La Thuile, Italy

Luxury hotel group Nira Hotels and Resorts has announced it is to open a new hotel – Nira Montana – in north Italy later this year. Situated in the picturesque town of La Thuile, at the foot of Mont Blanc, the new property is just steps from the ski slopes and hiking trails of the Italian Alps.

Scheduled to open on 5 December 2014, the 55-room luxury hotel will feature an authentic Italian restaurant, serving the finest ingredients sourced from across the country. Its bar will feature an extensive wine cellar as well as an al fresco area – perfect for an après-ski or post-hike drink. The hotel will also feature extensive wellness facilities, including an indoor pool, a large [comfort zone] spa with sauna and steam rooms, six treatment rooms, and a Technogym fitness centre.

Easily accessible, La Thuile is close to the major airports of northern Italy including Milan, Turin and Genoa, as well as to Geneva in Switzerland. Located in the popular tourist region of Val d’Aosta, La Thuile retains an authentic mountain village feel, with beautiful views of the Alps.

Built in the style of the valley’s traditional houses, the attractive, three-storey Nira Montana is constructed of wood and stone, uses energy saving systems and will be a member of Design Hotels. In keeping with the philosophy of Nira, the new hotel will place heavy emphasis on service, a high quality food and beverage offering and demonstrate good value for money. Rates will start from approximately 300 euros (approx. £238) per room per night and it will be the only five star hotel in La Thuile.

Growing the collection even further, Nira Hotels & Resorts is opening another property – Nira Yana – on Pemba Island, Zanzibar, in early 2015. The two hotels will join the group’s three existing properties: Shanti Maurice in Mauritius (2010), Nira Alpina in St. Moritz (2011) and Nira Caledonia, Edinburgh (2012).

MPS Puri, Chief Executive of Nira Hotels & Resorts, said: “We’re delighted to launch two new hotels under the Nira brand, bringing our portfolio to five. I’m confident that both properties will be great additions, providing our guests with more choice of where to enjoy the Nira experience.”
