Three hotels to become one Marriott Marquis in Doha

Marriott International’s signature business and leisure brand, Marriott Hotels, continues to grow across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The brand has just announced the opening of a new property in Doha’s West Bay district, where three hotels currently known as the Renaissance Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments Doha City Center become one as a new Marriott Hotel opens.

The Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel is in line with Marriott Hotels’ new brand strategy. “Marquis” is a brand extension of the Marriott Hotels and JW Marriott Hotels brands. It is given to select properties that are distinguished by their exceptional offerings and iconic locations, including expansive meeting facilities, multiple restaurants, and grand public spaces. The Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel with its 580 guest rooms, 1,200 square metres of flexible meeting space, and breath-taking views of the Doha skyline and Arabian Gulf is no exception.

Andreas Wissdorf, General Manager of the new Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel said, “Doha is a dynamic, diverse city and a professional business destination, capable of hosting large citywide events in state-of-the-art conference and exhibition centres. We saw an opportunity to enhance our offerings through the Marriott Hotels brand, adding some key features and facilities such as the ‘Greatroom’, ‘Future of Meetings’ and ‘Mobile Guest Services’. We are extremely proud to be the first Marriott Marquis property outside of the United States, offering the option of tailoring any kind of event, conference, meeting or social function to our customers’ needs through enhanced facilities and technology.”

The Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel will be the first Marriott Marquis in the Middle East, and the first property located outside of the US, as the other Marriott Marquis properties are located between New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, San Diego, Houston and Washington DC.
