Steigenberger Hotel Group to open fifth hotel in China

An agreement has now been signed for a fifth hotel in the country to be located in the eastern metropolis of Taizhou.

The Steigenberger flagship hotel in Taizhou will be housed in the top twelve storeys of the 300-metre City Towers, which will then become the city’s tallest structure.

More than 200 rooms and suites will be available to guests, whilst an events centre extending over an area of 750 m2 will offer several conference, seminar and meeting rooms.

The whole of the 61st floor will be given over to a health and beauty spa facility which will be over 1,000 m2 in size have its own gym and treatment areas.

Culinary facilities in the form of several international restaurants will be installed on the 2,000 m2 top floor. There are also plans for a Lobby Bar and German Café Lounge.

The hotel is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, stated: “The new project in Taizhou means that we will soon have five top hotels in China. This represents the robust implementation of our international expansion strategy at attractive locations.”
