U.S.-based hospitality management company Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Awilda Nevarez human resources director for the growing hotel management company. Karen Di Fulgo, vice president human resources, made the announcement.
“It is with the greatest pleasure that I announce Awilda’s promotion within our company,” said Ms. Di Fulgo. “She brings over 20 years of both industry and non-industry experience to her new role with Benchmark, spanning hospitality, education & learning and asset management. This is a well-deserved honor for Awilda and we congratulate her!”
Awilda Nevarez was previously human resources director for the Benchmark-operated Center for Leadership Excellence at Lockheed Martin, Bethesda, Maryland. She also recently served the Benchmark organization as lead field staff support for the human resources department.
Ms. Nevarez earlier held the title of director of human resources for North Maple Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, which Benchmark operated at the time. She joined Benchmark Hospitality as assistant human resources director for Lansdowne Resort of Leesburg, Virginia.
Awilda Nevarez earned her degree in business administration from Monroe College of Bronx, New York. She is certified in the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People program and is an Advanced Human Resource Generalist from the Society of Human Resource Management. She and her family are relocating to The Woodlands.
