Tim Kirwan joins Nickerson as Director of Hospitality

Kirwan, an experienced hospitality professional, will supplement Nickerson’s operations by bringing over 27 years of industry knowledge to the rapidly growing Nickerson team. In addition to helping launch the company’s hospitality division, Kirwan will be executing project management tasks while fostering strategic partnerships with new clients, vendors and the community. With a talent for developing strategies to help companies break away from their competitors, Kirwan brings a unique set of skills to the growing Nickerson team.

As a recognized professional in the Boston hotel and restaurant business, Kirwan has successfully created, opened, and assisted multiple companies in becoming profitable operations. Kirwan serves as the Vice President of CV Properties LLC, where he works with the company’s principals on existing hotel developments. In addition, Kirwan is also the Principal of Hotel Creation New England, a retained consulting firm focused on the hospitality businesses, where he utilizes his expertise in design, development, openings, and marketing/PR.

Adding to his impressive resume, Kirwan formerly worked as the managing director of Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square, which included thirteen boutique stores, the Eastern Standard Brasserie, and most notably, the award winning Great Bay Restaurant with Michael Schlow and Chris Myers.

Throughout the industry, Kirwan is known for his commitment and excellence in the hospitality industry. Over the course of his career, Kirwan has received recognition from his peers, including the AAA 4-Diamond Hotel award for the Hotel Commonwealth and the 364-room Westin in Providence, which he opened and managed for seven years. Kirwan has also been able to give national acclaim to the city of Providence by acting as the chairman of the Providence Film Commission and the chairman of the Providence Convention and Visitors Bureau.

He participates in many professional affiliations including the Greater Boston CVB Board and has served as the President of the Greater Boston Hotel Association along with Chairman of the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau.
