Shenyang served as the national capital city of China for more than two decades in the 17th century before the Manchu reign moved west to Beijing in 1644. Leaving behind the palaces and tombs of early rulers, these relics have since become popular tourist attractions, such as Shenyang Botanical Gardens and Mukden Palace, amongst others. Shenyang has historically been a titan of heavy industries, and in recent years, the city has seen greater contributions from tertiary industries and boasts the most robust consumption of luxury goods in Northeast China. The fast economic growth of the city as well as the irreplaceable city center location is ideal for the debut of W.

“Shenyang provides an ideal foothold for Starwood’s expanding pipeline with its growing economy and position as a trade hub for Northeast China,” said Franck Huang, Vice President, Acquisition & Development, Greater China, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. “This opening will strengthen Starwood’s presence in the city and provide an exciting option for affluent travelers who are looking for the epitome of contemporary luxury.”

W Shenyang will offer an integrated contemporary lifestyle experience, offering 280 stylish guestrooms, including 30 suites and an Extreme Wow Suite (the W brand’s reinterpretation of the traditional Presidential Suite). It will also feature more than 26,000 square feet of ultra-modern meeting and event space as well as 24-hour, WIRED business center, spa, FIT state-of-the-art workout facility, WET indoor heated swimming pool, and W Hotels The Store. In addition, the hotel will offer four unique restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining restaurant, innovative Chinese restaurant, specialty restaurant, and the striking Living Room Bar. Guests can also expect the W brand’s iconic Whatever/Whenever service philosophy, providing them with whatever they want, whenever they want it.
