Tune Hotels-organised flash mob takes over Bangkok’s Khao San Road

Bangkok’s most vibrant melting pot rocked to the beat of Phad Thai vendors’ frying pans and high-kicking dancers as Khao San Road was the scene of a very Thai-flavoured flash mob last week.

Throngs of tourists and locals alike on Bangkok’s celebrated street were spellbound as what began with a single Phad Thai seller banging out a beat on his frying pan ended with the entire strip rocking to a Phad Thai percussion orchestra as a growing throng of dancers busted moves, Thai boxers shadow boxed and cheerleaders were tossed into the sky.

The flash mob event was such fun and the video is a must-watch,” said Tune Hotels Country Head, Thailand Aticha Pasaprates. “It really captured the spirit of what defines Thailand in so many ways and what draws travellers here time and time again – and that’s the sense of fun or what we call sanuk.

“Sanuk is a concept we value at Tune Hotels Thailand too. We take pride in offering our guests a great night’s sleep in a custom-made bed, a power shower, a great location in the heart of the action and unrivalled value.
