Now in its second year The Fluffies were developed by Methven and are the UK’s only award scheme to highlight Britain’s finest hotel towels.
New for this year, they introduced a category to target the ‘Best UK Hotel Pillows’ too. Liddell has announced one of their pillows has been crowned the crème de la crème of comfort, as used in Macdonald Hotels & Resorts.
Duck feather and down pillow – jumbo
The soft duck feather and down pillows are made from pure soft cotton and the finest duck feather and down. Liddell uses master craftsman’s techniques to enclose the piped edging and fine grades of cotton. The pillow comes in a jumbo size to increase comfort and experience for hotel guests.
What was tested?
To determine the winners of the fluffiest hotel pillows, independent tests were undertaken at the 20 biggest mid- to high-end hotel brands in the UK.* Using the latest technology available, including digital callipers and whiteness meters, researchers measured the bedroom pillows across four key criteria – thickness, whiteness, area size and overall on feel, condition and
Each hotel’s pillows were tested three times and given an average score; this score was then ranked one to 20 in each of the four categories. A number one ranking received 20 points, descending down to a number 20 ranking receiving a single point. The points total across all four criteria confirmed an overall winner. The results were announced at the annual 59club awards event at the Belfry Hotel, Birmingham.
