The property’s FlyteBoard is a flat panel, high resolution screen that displays arrival and departure information for Chicago O’Hare and Midway International airports. Flyte Systems is a provider of airport travel information displays and digital signage content for the hospitality industry, convention centers, and travel related businesses.
Guests have glance-and-go access to flight info in property lobby
“Providing reliable flight information to our guests is important. We are a high-occupancy, 357-room property that serves many business travelers and convention center attendees. Most of our guests fly in through Chicago O’Hare or Midway International Airports,” said Jim Lovekamp, general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile. “We placed a FlyteBoard airline flight information screen in our lobby to give guests convenient glance-and-go airline arrival, departures, and gate information for both airports. We also installed the FlytePass boarding pass and airline flight information terminal in our business center.”
Technology frees busy front desk team for other guest services
Lovekamp said that the FlyteBoard makes it much easier for guests to confirm their schedules while still on property. “Guests are particularly interested in their flight status during the heavy winters we have in Chicago. When they can check flight times themselves it takes the burden off our front desk team. This is really helpful when the desk is busy with a high volume of check-ins or check-outs.” Prior to installing Flyte Systems, guests queued up in the business center to check flights and print boarding passes on property PCs. “If the business center was tied up, guests went to the front desk to request airport information.”
