HRI Lodging names John Cario VP/General Manager of Multi-Use Properties

John Cario VP Richmond hotel management veteran John Cario has been named vice president/general manager for HRI Lodging, with direct oversight of the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown/Miller & Rhoads and Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown/King Edward, announced Gary Gutierrez, president of HRI Lodging.

Cario joined HRI Lodging in March 2010 as general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Downtown. Prior to joining the company, Cario spent more than 30 years managing a number of hotels under the Hilton, Promus and Wyndham brands and worked in a number of management capacities in Richmond-area hotels. During his time with Wyndham, he opened or operated seven hotels in Chicago, Nashville, Maryland and Arizona.

Cario graduated from James Madison University in Harrisburg, Va. He is a past board member of the Richmond Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau and currently serves on the Hilton Garden Inn General Manager Advisory Council.
