Courtyard takes guestroom on year-long road trip

Courtyard by Marriott is packing its bags and taking off on a year-long road trip with its newest program, "Courtyard @," that provides travelers at big event destinations with what they need for a successful trip.

Courtyard@ 1First stop is the 2014 South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, TX, as "Courtyard @" delivers a mobile getaway for frenzied attendees seeking a networking space that enables them to be productive at the fun but often space restricted festival. The "Courtyard @" experience at SXSW is modeled to showcase the brand's next generation guest room. While relaxing, guests can caffeinate their body, juice up their phone and recharge their mind in preparation for their next event.

Over the weekend, "Courtyard @ SXSW" treated conference attendees with a special appearance by internet phenomenon Sam Griner, better known as "Success Kid." The now six-year-old Griner reprised his famous fist-clenching baby photo pose that improbably went from an online family photo album into a viral symbol of success. SXSW attendees lined up to pose with "Success Kid" as Courtyard then enabled attendees to create their own custom meme images.

"Courtyard @" offers a peek into the brand's innovative next generation guest room featuring its custom LoungeAround sofa and ottoman along with a tech drop and much more. From complimentary drinks to productive work space, Courtyard offers SXSW attendees an alternative that will help them maximize their time at the conference. The space can be reserved in 30 minute increments at Courtyard.com/sxsw at no charge and runs from March 7-10.
