Bored, fidgety children in a restaurant can be a nightmare for all concerned. Hotel restaurants can take the pressure off frazzled parents by offering up some menu options to delight the young ones and keep the adults happy too. Here are four kid-friendly ideas developed by Four Seasons outlets.
Brunch on a roll
It's a dream for picky eaters, or little ones who don't share their parents' love of brunch. Four Seasons Hotel Chicago rolled out its Kids Kart Brunch – the yummiest meal on four wheels. It starts with a kiddie "libation," such as a local root beer or a juice of the day. Next, it's time for small bites that range from mini-cinnamon rolls (with paint-your-own icing) to fruit salad in a jar. Finally, the kart arrives with the main event entrées that are so delicious, adults might be jealous. Think: breakfast sliders, Nutella quesadillas or housemade chicken fingers.

What's the coolest place for kids to hang out in Beantown? The Top Secret Ice Cream Club at Four Seasons Hotel Boston. Kids will be directed to the behind-the-scenes location for one hour only, between 8:00 and 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Once inside the covert locale, they'll discover a sweet world of ice creamy treats, served up by the one and only Four Seasons Ice Cream Man. The second-best part of this club? The dress code: pyjamas are welcome.
Doughnut delight
There's a "hole" new way for kids to enjoy a Saturday or Sunday meal at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. During brunch, the hotel staff wheels out its sweet secret weapon: The Doughnut Machine. As the hot, crispy balls of sweet dough pop out of the machine, kids can pick their glazes and toppings. Will it be a coating of traditional chocolate? Will it be maple glaze with cinnamon-infused sugar? Or, better yet, what about one of everything?
Kids corner
Kids who can't stop playing with their food are welcome at Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre. The weekly Kids' Corner during Friday brunch offers activities that are much more appetizing than just sitting with Mom and Dad. Once comfortably ensconced in the corner, children can watch cartoons, play video games, bake cookies or even get their faces painted. The benefit is that parents can savour their food with few interruptions.
