Four Points by Sheraton Charleston the First Starwood Hotel in West Virginia

Starwood Hotels & Resorts have announced the launch of its growing Four Points brand in Charleston, the capital of West Virginia. Owned by BBL Hospitality, Four Points by Sheraton Charleston completed a $15 million renovation to transform the Charleston House Hotel into the newest addition to the Four Points portfolio.

Offering spectacular views of the Kanawha River, the hotel is Starwood's first property to open in West Virginia. The newly renovated hotel features 176 guest rooms and suites, 12,000 square feet of meeting facilities and full-service dining.

Prior to re-opening as a Four Points, the 12-story hotel, built in 1966, fully renovated all guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas, refurbished the exterior and added the Recovery Sports Grill and an indoor pool.

Park Hyatt Vienna the first Hyatt in Austria

Vienna will welcome a new member of the Hyatt family when Park Hyatt Vienna opens in the summer of 2014. The first Park Hyatt hotel in Austria, it will be situated in Vienna's new, pedestrian, Goldenes Quartier and on the Am Hof square. The Park Hyatt Vienna will occupy a listed 100-year old building that formerly served as the headquarters of an Austrian Hungarian Monarcy Bank and forms part of Vienna's First District, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Park Hyatt Vienna will feature 143 guestrooms, including 35 suites, ranging from 35 to 170 square metres. Hotel visitors will be able to enjoy gourmet cuisine at the historically restored hotel restaurant "The Bank", afternoon tea at the "Lounge", a cocktail or drink at the "Living Room" whisky and cigar lounge, or a light lunch or snack at the "Pearl" bar, with outdoor terrace seating during the summer months.

The hotel's Arany Spa will be open to the public as well as guests. This 1,000 square metre area will offer a selection of body treatments and massages, a 15-metre indoor swimming pool as well as cardio and strength training in the fitness centre, which will feature the advanced technology line Artis from Technogym. Furthermore, the Arany Spa will have six treatment rooms, including one for couples. Additionally, the spa will features a separate wet area with sauna, steam bath, 3amarium, vitality shower and relaxation area.

$40 Million Rejuvenation planned for Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel

A $40 million top-to-bottom rejuvenation is planned for the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel, which is centrally located in the heart of the city's financial, sports and entertainment epicenter.

The reimagined hotel will be a centerpiece of The Bloc, a nearly two million-square-foot retail, office and hospitality international destination to be anchored by a flagship Macy's department store. Upon completion, it will be the largest single asset mixed-use property in the City of Los Angeles.

The hotel transformation will include all 495 guest rooms, meeting and public space, as well as the restaurant and lounge. McCARTAN, a design company based in New York City, is spearheading the interior design, beginning with the guest rooms.

Each guest room will feature the signature Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed, a large flat screen television, in-room safe, refrigerator and new carpeting and furniture, plus a backlit working desk with task lighting paired with an ergonomic chair. Bathrooms will feature new marble tile, large under counter sinks, tubs with showers, lighted mirrors, Sheraton bath amenities and bathrobes.

Integrated technology for each room incorporates a wireless radio-frequency identification (RFID) communication platform to let guests bypass the front desk to check in remotely via their PC or web-enabled mobile devices, and wireless high speed Internet access.

Located on preferred floors, newly renovated Sheraton Club guest rooms afford panoramic city views and complimentary access to the new Club Lounge. A relaxing, upscale space, the Club Lounge offers complimentary breakfast, afternoon hors d'oeuvres and a variety of beverage options.

The hotel's 26,000 square feet of transformed flexible indoor and outdoor event space and many new amenities will include a swimming pool for everyone, plus an outdoor spa and cabanas on the third floor, along with adjacent meeting space for social and corporate clients wanting easy access to the pool area.  Food and beverage service will be available.

A variety of new dining choices will accommodate the needs of guests in the hotel and the new eateries to be located in the adjacent mall, where a new Metro subway station will serve visitors, local residents and business commuters. 

Located within walking distance of award-winning Los Angeles Convention Center, Staples Center and LA Live, the Sheraton has more than 26,000 square feet of multi-use meeting space, a complimentary fitness facility, lobby bar and extensive dining options. The hotel embraces environmentally friendly practices, including recycling, an opt-out program for changing sheets and towels, low-flush toilets and energy-efficient light bulbs.

ALHI expands portfolio adding La Cantera Hill Country Resort in Texas and Rancho Bernardo Inn in California

Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has expanded its portfolio of Four- and Five-Diamond quality meeting, convention and incentive hotels and resorts with the addition of La Cantera Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas; and Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, California.

In addition to becoming the newest Members of ALHI's worldwide portfolio and having excellent meeting and function spaces, the two resorts become the newest additions to "ALHI's Golf Collection" specialty segment for meetings and incentive programs within ALHI's portfolio, which now features 60 member hotels and resorts worldwide that offer championship golf. The ALHI Golf Collection resorts now feature more than 100 championship golf courses, and over 3.5 million square feet of meeting space.

La Cantera Hill Country Resort is a AAA Four-Diamond resort that is set atop one of the highest points of the scenic hill country in San Antonio, Texas. Featuring "Texas Colonial" décor that incorporates native textiles and artwork, the resort boasts 508 luxuriously appointed guestrooms in the hotel, and more than 25 suites and 38 spacious villa-style guestrooms in the resort's exclusive Casita Village. The resort offers 40,000 square feet of flexible indoor function space, which includes a 17,000-square-foot ballroom that is divisible into two smaller ballrooms or into nine individual meeting areas. In addition, there is 25,000 square feet of outdoor space, which includes a grandiose pre-function foyer and terrace offering panoramic views of the resort's two 18-hole championship golf courses.

Also available at La Cantera Hill Country Resort are eight separate meeting rooms, three executive boardrooms, and a 3,100-square-foot Pavilion. The resort also features five lagoon-style swimming pools, eight unique dining venues, and the renowned The Castle Rock Health Club & Spa.

San Diego's 280-acre Rancho Bernardo Inn, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013, offers 287 guest rooms and suites that feature custom furniture, 42" flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi, and private patios or balconies. The AAA Four-Diamond resort's 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space can accommodate groups up to 1,000, and includes 22 meeting rooms. Rancho Bernardo Inn's 18-hole championship golf course, which has hosted both a PGA and LPGA event, was renovated last year and is just steps from the resort's lobby. A $28 million renovation of the resort was completed in 2007, which included the renovation of guest rooms; the addition of the Aragon Ballroom; and the building of The Spa, which features state-of-the-art treatment rooms, temperature-controlled outdoor treatment casitas, relaxing water features, and sunning lounges.

In addition, the Southern California resort offers three swimming pools, 12 fountains, and such dining options as AVANT restaurant, Veranda Fireside Lounge & Restaurant, and Café Granada. In addition to its Membership in ALHI's worldwide portfolio and the "ALHI Golf Collection," the resort also joins the "ALHI Historic Collection" specialty segment, consisting of ALHI's legendary Member hotels and resorts with more than 50 years of heritage.
