Holiday Inn to open in Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of Holiday Inn Dabrowa Gornicza Katowice in Poland. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2015.
The franchise agreement with Hotel Commercial Investment to open Holiday Inn Dabrowa Gornicza Katowice will makes this property the first internationally branded hotel to open in the area. The 160 room hotel will be newly built close to exhibition centre EXPO Silesia and occupies a prime location in the greater Katowice area. The hotel's main driver of demand will be MICE travellers frequenting the exhibition hall.
There are currently 281 Holiday Inn hotels in Europe with a further 25 in the pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.

The Banyan Tree Group has unveiled a new extension of its Angsana Hotels & Resorts brand, with its latest investment property opportunity, Angsana Waterfront Suites, situated within integrated resort Laguna Phuket.

Construction is expected to commence in late 2014 with a projected completion schedule of 24 months.
The starting price for the one-bedroom fully furnished Angsana Waterfront Suites is Baht 10.5 million and will also include 5 years membership to the Laguna Phuket Golf Club.
Crestpoint adds two management contracts in Kentucky
Ohio-based independent hotel development and management company Crestpoint has signed two new contracts to its management portfolio, both located in Kentucky.
The 68-room Comfort Suites is located in Lexington Kentucky, near the Blue Grass Airport and the University of Kentucky. The 111-room Baymont Inn & Suites is located in Florence, Kentucky with easy access to major Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati attractions and businesses.
Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside Expansion Project Open for Business
San Diego-based Bartell Hotels has completed a four-story, 44,000-square-foot, $13 million expansion of its Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside property located at the entrance to Point Loma.
The hotel expansion features a new grand entrance to the hotel consisting of a Mediterranean garden, a 23-foot sculpture, and a 2,000-square-foot lobby with 18-foot teak ceilings. In addition, the expansion adds 57 guest rooms and suites with bay and marina views, a corporate boardroom complete with state-of-the-art amenities and a 5,000-square-foot pre-function area and ballroom. The hotel now totals 291 guest rooms including 13 suites, and total meeting space of 9,750 square feet.
