Valentine's Day is almost upon us once again and there's so much choice on how to spend it with your loved one. But how can you be original and romantic without being too cheesy? Let London's hotels take the strain!
This year they're offering a range of romantic experiences to help you create the perfect atmosphere and we've picked out ten of our favourites…
The May Fair Hotel
The May Fair is doing an Apro-Tea-Siac afternoon tea to woo your loved one with. It has a special menu with two cocktails and a selection of canapés (like white truffle and honey glazed pork) which are sure to turn the romance up. This can also be turned into an overnight Apro-Tea-Siac package, which includes the afternoon tea, one night's stay and a champagne breakfast. Whilst you're at the May Fair, you might also be tempted to have a drink in one ofLondon's trendiest hotel bars.
The Baglioni Kensington
‘All you need is love' with the Baglioni Kensington romance package. Treat your loved one to true Italian charm including a luxury spa and high-quality restaurant. The most enticing aspect is perhaps the romantic turndown with a bath complete with rose petals and oil. The bathrooms at Baglioni are gorgeous too and generously filled with luxury toiletries.
Milestone Hotel
The Milestone was featured last Valentine's for its creative couples' massage and has gone even further this year with not one but two specials. The Be My Valentine package for example includes: an overnight stay with a bottle of Pink Champagne on arrival, a romantic turndown with rose petals and candles, chocolate-dipped strawberries in your room, a full English breakfast and a single red rose on arrival. We'd suggest taking afternoon tea afterwards in the hotel's romantic conservatory.
Firmdale Hotels
Firmdale Hotels are running a special Valentine's schedule at their in-house cinemas with a deluxe four-course meal and a film screening at 8pm. At the Soho Hotel, you can enjoy the rom-com Silver Linings Playbook after your Valentine's meal. Or for a timeless romantic classic, Charlotte Street Hotel is showing Breakfast at Tiffany's. The Covent Garden Hotel meanwhile is being smooth and seductive by showing Casablanca.
Eccleston Square Hotel
If you're looking for luxury on a budget, you'll probably be excited to learn that Eccleston Square Hotel is running an incredibly reasonable set dinner for Valentine's. They are offering two courses for £22.50 and three courses for £27.50. Take a look at the menu and let there be love!
The Beaufort Hotel
The Beaufort is a small luxury hotel in Knightsbridge, full of little perks which put larger hotels to shame, like a complimentary afternoon tea reviewed on this blog and free WiFi. Their Valentine's package includes: a deluxe room with King size bed, a single red rose in the room on arrival, a delicious box of chocolates plus a continental breakfast tray for two delivered to your room. Plus, if you want to spoil your loved one even further and take them on a shopping trip, the hotel is tucked away just behind Harrods.
Sofitel St James
If you want your loved one fresh and relaxed for Valentine's day, then why not spoil them at Sofitel So Spa in the immaculate Sofitel St James? The spa package comes with an aromatherapy massage which uses a blend of rose and ylang ylang, followed by a Fleur de Bali Facial. They can then finish with a rose Kir Royal with rose macaroons. This package is available for one or two and runs throughout February.
Corinthia Hotel
The Corinthia is a relatively new 5 star hotel, but offers that warm glow of accomplished decadent luxury in spades. This Valentine's they're offering a special package at their spa, ESPA. Treat your loved one (or yourself before the big night) to their revitalising "romance package". The following elements are included: a personalised massage, a skin radiance facial and a light lunch with a glass of Laurent- Perrier in the spa lounge. Before you return for a red carpet blow dry at the hotel's Daniel Galvin salon.
Myhotel Bloomsbury/Chelsea
Myhotels are offering a sexier type of Valentine's experience in all senses. They've teamed up with 210th who specialise in "spicing up" your love life (let's just leave it at that). Myhotel Bloomsbury has been rated by an LHI blogger as among the most stylish hotels near Soho while Myhotel Chelsea has the feel of a luxury boutique hideaway. The special deal includes an overnight stay, a box of erotic delights from 210th and a continental breakfast for two. You'll certainly be turning up the heat with this one.
Four Seasons Park Lane
The Four Seasons Park Lane is promising a Valentine's to remember, as far removed from those dreaded petrol garage bought flowers as you can get! Their offer includes: a Deluxe King room for two with a chilled bottle of Bollinger Champagne on arrival, San Valentino dinner for two in Amaranto, a Be My Valentine Spa treatment for two and full English breakfast for two.
Many of the above packages and deals run throughout February, not just on Valentine's Day. Please enquire directly with the respective hotel for details as the exact terms of each offer can vary.
Whatever you end up doing, we wish you an unforgettable Valentine's!
