One of the most charming bars in Manhattan happens to be tucked away inside one of the city's best boutique hotels. Skillfully made cocktails and solid snacks (you can tell that Daniel Boulud — one of New York's top chefs — is in charge here) complement the romantically lit space. It's the perfect place to warm up after a snowy walk in Central Park, just half a block away.
Roast, The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit
Any winter gray is banished upon entering the lively, modern bar area at this locally adorned restaurant. Helmed by celeb chef Michael Symon, the bar faces the classic streetscape out on Washington Boulevard. A cool crowd of locals floods in toward the close of the workday for the very good cocktails and bar food. Head bartender Travis Fourmont recently won a national award for his innovative and delicious manhattan.

There are other bars in Los Angeles, but this one has starlets, a tucked-behind-the-hedges exclusivity, and a moody, almost bordello-esque vibe that wraps itself around you and makes you forget the fact that it's winter. (Yes, even Southern California gets cold.)
Carousel Bar & Lounge, The Hotel Monteleone New Orleans
Mix it up at this revolving bar inside one of the French Quarter's most famous addresses. This vintage spot for cocktails is better than ever after a recent renovation. Thankfully, they haven't messed with the important things, like their Sazerac recipe — the city's most civilized and celebrated adult beverage is guaranteed to warm you up.
Six Seven, The Edgewater Hotel, Seattle
Sweeping views of Elliot Bay, soft lighting, and compelling, cozy décor in the lounge portion of this hotel's main restaurant add up to the perfect spot to sit out any stormy day. Great bar snacks with decent prices, such as lobster mac and cheese and platters of locally cured salumi, invite sticking around for a while.

The décor (imagine the hippest library you've ever been in, with a roaring fire, a sexy crowd, and stiff drinks) sets the stage for one of the most appealing hotel bar scenes in town.
