W Hotels kicks off travelling music festival

W Hotels Worldwide has announced WAKE UP CALL: a W Hotels Music Festival, transforming the concert scene with the hotel brand’s first-ever weekend long music festival. The inaugural event will take over the entire W Scottsdale from September 30 to October 2, with electric performances, exclusive meet and greets, and unexpected experiences popping up in various places throughout the hotel. The music festival will then travel annually to different W Hotels around the world, with the soon-to-open W Las Vegas slated to host the three-day bash in 2017.

The first ever WAKE UP CALL: a W Hotels Music Festival will feature performances by Bebe Rexha, Cee Lo Green (DJ set), De La Soul, Jess Glynne, Kungs, Lost Frequencies, Matoma, Mayer Hawthorne and Nico & Vinz, with additional artists to be announced. Music lovers will enjoy a diverse schedule even after the music stops, including afternoon pool parties at W Scottsdale’s WET pool deck; morning FUEL fitness class with POUND®, the rockstar-inspired cardio drumming workout, complete with mimosas and pressed juice bar; Bliss Spa pop-ups with makeup and nail touchups: VIP Lounges; and much more.

The W brand has been synonymous with its quintessential sonic identity since its launch in 1998, and hosting its own music festival is the latest evolution of its innovative music programming. Most recently, the brand announced W Hotels Sound Suites, private music studios and writer’s rooms for professional recording artists, studio musicians, producers and hotel guests to record in style while on the road. In partnership with Coca-Cola, the first W Hotels Sound Suite debuted at W Bali – Seminyak this past summer, with W Seattle, W Hollywood and W Barcelona slated to open additional Sound Suites later this year.

W also has a Global Music Collective comprised of industry pros from Chicago, London, Mexico City and Singapore who work together with the Music Curators at every W Hotel to identify and showcase the hottest rising talent from all corners of the globe. Previously, renowned producer Michaelangelo L’Acqua was the Global Music Director for the brand, a position that was a first for the hospitality industry. W has also partnered with Billboard Magazine to bring artists featured on its Real-Time Emerging Artist Chart to W Hotels around the country for intimate performances as part of the NEXT UP artist series.
