InterContinental Chicago gets “China-Ready”

InterContinental-Chicago-Caters-To-Chinese-TravelersAs a highly sought-after destination for Chinese travelers, InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile is pleased to offer those visiting from China a selection of “China-Ready” amenities designed to make their stay feel like home. Including offerings such as authentic cuisine and Mandarin speaking staff trained to communicate with non-English visitors, the hotel has gone above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable during their stay on property.

“Our goal is to create a special experience for every guest,” said InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile Director of Sales & Marketing David Almond. “With over 120,000 Chinese visitors to Chicago each year, we wanted to create offerings to ensure those who are staying with us feel at home.”

As part of a corporate-wide plan with InterContinental Hotels Group to attract Chinese travelers, the China-Ready offerings are an important initiative for InterContinental Chicago with all employees undergoing a cultural training. Other China-Ready offerings include:

  • Welcome pack upon check in, including a customized welcome letter and hotel guide in Mandarin
  • Chicago map and magazines available in Mandarin
  • Tea amenity with two different types of Chinese teas
  • Complimentary bottled water and slippers
  • Mandarin TV channels
  • A la carte Chinese menu items upon request
