Dubai skyline done in waffles for Hilton Garden Inn’s UAE debut

Waffle DubaiHilton Worldwide  celebrated the arrival of its mid-scale brand – Hilton Garden Inn into the UAE, with the unveiling of an edible Dubai skyline – created using the brand’s signature breakfast waffles.

The sculpture, created from 1,500 waffles and measuring three by four metres, took Dubai-based food artist Mark Ranasinghe almost 40 hours to construct and imitates eight iconic landmarks in the city, including the Burj Khalifa.

The first of three new hotels to the Emirate’s burgeoning hospitality market – the 183-room Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Al Muraqabat – officially opened in the busy heart of Deira on 22 October. Hilton Garden Inn will add an additional 552 new rooms over the next two months with the opening of the 182-room Hilton Garden Inn Dubai Al Mina, located between the well-known districts of Bur Dubai and Jumeirah; and the 370-room Hilton Garden Inn Mall of the Emirates.

Mark Nogal, regional head, Hilton Garden Inn EMEA said, “We are excited to introduce the Hilton Garden Inn brand into the UAE for the first time, with three impressive Dubai properties due to open in the next two months and another six in the pipeline. With mounting demand for mid-scale accommodation following Dubai’s naming as the Expo 2020 host city, we believe the arrival of Hilton Garden Inn will play an essential role in the changing face of the city’s hospitality infrastructure.”
