The Adria Hotel Forum (AHF)is a leading Southeastern European hotel investment conference held in Zagreb each year and attended by regional and international hotel industry experts.
In 2016, the AHF theme is “INVESTments in hotel industry; Shaping the future”.
The Adria Hotel Forum brings national, regional and international experts to encourage communication and development of investments in the hotel industry as well as presenting opportunities for foreign investors to invest in Croatia and the region. In one place, it gathers relevant actors with the main goal: to develop hotel industry, raise the quality level and follow the global trends. The forum is envisioned as a group of selected industry participants who can bring important and necessary structural changes with their actions.
In the first three years, AHF gathered:
- More than 900 participants, 120 panelists, 25 panels and presentations, 25 institutional partners, 30 media partners, 50 partners and sponsors
- Panelists were representatives of the largest international hotel and affiliated companies such as: InterContinental Group, Hyatt International, Hilton Worldwide, Starwood International, Colliers, HVS, Best Western, Steigenberger Hotel group, Corinthia Hotels, NAU Hotels, Ascendant Finance, GIHE, STR Global, Cushman & Wakefield, Horwath HTL, Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group, Condé Nast, Roland Berger and many others
In 2016, Adria Hotel Forum will gather representatives from local, regional and global hotel companies with over 15.000 hotels and international investment companies with over $60 billion dollars of assets under management.

Shaping the future
The global hotel industry in 2014 has been highlighted in several segments: Accelerating cross-border capital flows intensified competition among domestic and international investor groups, in select secondary markets, investors evaluated higher-yield opportunities outside of gateway cities, reflecting renewed interest in the sector, Evolving guest preferences propelled an influx of new hotel brands (mostly within the existing international groups).
In addition, the global tourism industry makes up 9.5% of the world’s gross domestic product (GDP).
Overseas capital increases each year and it accounted for 41.2% of 2014’s global hotel investments while 43.2% of international investors are coming from Asian countries.
The industry future and the question on development of existing as well as new destinations is a question of debate of AHF 2016. what is the situation in the region when comparing with the rest of the Europe, which trends change according to travelers demand around the globe and what is the model to develop and promote new regional destinations – we will discuss with the leader of hotel and tourism industry.
