Steigenberger Hotel Group enters into cooperation with the IST School of Management

Steigenberger BAThe Steigenberger Hotel Group is enhancing its catalogue of human resources development measures by joining forces with the IST School of Management to offer a dual course of higher education study in “Hotel Management (B.A.)”. The programme will commence in the coming winter semester and provide young and committed managerial talent with training designed to open up international career opportunities.

“We set great store by offering our staff the personal and professional support they need in order to become outstanding specialists and managers,” said Roberto Rojas, Vice President of Human Resources at the Steigenberger Hotels AG. The dual course of higher education study at the IST School of Management, which leads to a Bachelor qualification in ‘Hotel Management’, is a flexible training programme which meets the demands that our company makes in terms of quality.”

The course is a dual distance learning programme which combines practical company-based vocational education and training with the academic teaching that an institute of higher education is able to offer. This is a modern form of study which is tailored to the requirements of the hotel sector. It gives hotels the chance to offer highly motivated up-and-coming workers with training that is aligned to company needs and to secure the loyalty of such staff.

“Students spend the majority of their study time at the company, where they are integrated into operational procedures,” explains Thomas Corinth, who is responsible for the course at the IST School of Management. “They pass through the various departments of a hotel business and thus are able to learn all tasks and activities from scratch.”
