Glion Institute of Higher Education, one of the world’s top three institutes of higher education for an international career in hospitality management (TNS Global Survey, 2013), received the award for Best Hospitality Management School 2015 at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards during a ceremony at InterContinental Paris Le Grand, France, on Nov.5.
“It is truly an honor to receive this award,” said Judy Hou, Director General of Glion Institute of Higher Education. “For more than 50 years, Glion has been at the forefront of hospitality management education worldwide. This is an important international recognition for our continuous academic innovation and leadership in the industry.”
The Worldwide Hospitality Awards is an international competition founded by Georges Panayotis, President & CEO of MKG Group, that was created to allow hospitality companies to highlight their teams’ exemplary achievements in communication, marketing, concept, human resources, social and environmental responsibility, F&B, and digital; and since 2010, it includes a new category called the Worldwide Hospitality Schools Awards.
The organization and development of the Worldwide Hospitality Awards are placed under the control of an advisory board which includes representatives of the global hospitality industry for the hotels competition and representatives of international hospitality management schools as well as the human resources managers of hotel groups for the school awards. An international jury composed of approximately forty renowned figures of the business world, the tourism industry, and the marketing sector (excluding the hotel and restaurant industry) chose the three finalists of the Worldwide Hospitality School Awards on the basis of several key performance metrics highlighted in a special report. Glion was elected the winner through a live voting process that involved more than 800 key leaders of the hospitality industry.
“This award comes at an exciting time for Glion. We launched a new Luxury Brand Management specialization this year and in January 2016 we are offering the Glion MBA in London. This distinction rewards our innovative programs and our constant efforts to meet the industry’s needs and requirements,” said Ms. Hou. “I am also very pleased to see that one of our prominent alumni Ralph Radtke, General Manager of the Ciragan Palace Kempinski in Turkey also won the award of Best General Manager of the year. The standard of excellence continues beyond the school and through our network of alumni.”
