Hilton College joins hospitality programs in Europe and Asia to offer MS in Global Hospitality Business

The University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management is partnering with the top hospitality programs in Europe and Asia—Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)—to offer an all-new Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business.

The first of its kind, this truly global program will provide students with an extensive understanding of world markets and firsthand experience of local cultures across three continents.

“This master’s program was designed in close collaboration with top players in the hotel, tourism and service industry, and students will benefit from a strong professional immersion during their curriculum,” said Dr. Fabien Fresnel, dean of EHL.

That unparalleled professional immersion comes thanks to a unique and personalized capstone project, professional certifications and business field trips to global tourism hubs like New York, Paris and Macau.

“In a world that has become very connected, it is vital that future leaders have strong international perspectives and an in-depth understanding of local markets,” said Professor Kaye Chon, dean of SHTM at PolyU.

The three-semester program will begin in September 2015, with students spending their first semester at EHL in Lausanne, Switzerland; second at PolyU in Hong Kong and third at Hilton College in Houston.

“The hospitality sector has tremendous growth perspective for years to come, and our graduates will have a unique advantage in tomorrow’s job market because of this challenging and innovative degree,” Hilton College Dean John Bowen said. “It will be the experience of a lifetime.”
