Loyalty programs enhanced by both Hilton and Ritz-Carlton

DTbHJ-Deluxe_1Both Hilton and Ritz Carlton have announced sweeteners to their loyalty programs. Hilton Worldwide has formed a global partnership with Garuda Indonesia and Ritz Carlton is offering double credits for each nights stay.

Hilton partners with airline

Hilton HHonors, the loyalty program for Hilton Worldwide’s 11 hotel brands, has announced a new partnership with Garuda Indonesia, the national air carrier of Indonesia. The partnership allows members of both GarudaMiles and Hilton HHonors to earn HHonors Points and GarudaMiles miles when they stay at any of the more than 4,100 hotels within the Hilton Worldwide Portfolio.

“Indonesia is a key, growing market within Asia, and we are continuously looking for new ways to reward the increasing number of Hilton HHonors members that travel to the region,” said Mark Weinstein, vice president, Commercial Services Strategy, Loyalty Programs & Partnerships. “Aligning with Garuda Indonesia offers members more options to earn Points and airline miles that can be used to create memorable travel experiences.”

Through this partnership, members of both programs can earn 10 HHonors Base Points, plus one GarudaMiles mile for every U.S. dollar spent during their stay at any property in the Hilton Portfolio. Stays at Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites are only eligible to earn up to 100 GarudaMiles miles.

“We are delighted to align ourselves with Hilton HHonors, a leader of hotel guest loyalty programs across the globe,” said Amelia Nasution – Vice President Customer Relationship Management, Garuda Indonesia. “Through this partnership we are giving our valued members even more ways to enjoy their travel experience, either in the air or on the ground.”

Hilton HHonors offers Points & Miles for the same stay with no blackout dates or capacity controls at more than 4,100 hotels worldwide.

Ritz-Carlton accelerates point accumulation

In the continued effort to offer Ritz-Carlton Rewards members exceptional experiences, double Elite night credits are a new promotional benefit for 2014. For each night that a member stays at a participating Ritz-Carlton hotel, they will receive credit for two nights, accelerating their achievement of Elite status.

This new benefit supports the hotel company’s efforts to strengthen and differentiate The Ritz-Carlton Rewards program, and offers members an accelerated journey to maintaining their current Elite status or achieving a higher level. This new benefit applies to each stay during 2014, including those that members have already made.

“The Ritz-Carlton is delighted to further enhance the Rewards program and continue to offer our members exclusive benefits,” said Kevin McCarthy, Vice President, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards.  “We believe our members will enjoy the many benefits offered with Elite status.”

As the premier luxury brand in the Marriott International portfolio, The Ritz-Carlton Hotels lead the high-end luxury hotel segment by offering a rewards program that enables guests to access benefits at 86 Ritz-Carlton hotels and resorts, plus enjoy the full portfolio of Marriott brands worldwide – more than 4,000 properties.

In order to participate in the offer, guests must be a member of The Ritz-Carlton Rewards at the time of their stay. Stays must be at a participating Ritz-Carlton property, and for each eligible night, members will receive two Elite night credits. Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for Elite night credit.  Double Elite night credits are retroactively granted to members for all stays at Ritz-Carlton properties starting on January 1, 2014, and are automatically applied to members’ accounts. To be eligible for retroactive double Elite night credit, guests must have been a Ritz-Carlton Rewards member during that stay in 2014.  Nights stayed at a Ritz-Carlton property as a member of the Marriott Rewards program are not eligible for double Elite night credit. Members can review their current status by logging into their account.
