Ekrem Tercanoglu new Food & Beverage Director of Four Seasons Resorts, Lanai

Ekrem Tercanoglu has been named Food & Beverage Director of Four Seasons Resorts Lanai, overseeing all food and beverage operations for the eight distinct outlets between Manele Bay and The Lodge at Koele.

Tercanoglu, a 16-year veteran with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, has worked in management positions throughout Europe, Egypt and North America.  Ekrem makes the move to Hawaii from the Five Diamond and Five Star Luxury Resort the Grand Del Mar, in Southern California, where he served as director of food & beverage.

Prior to The Grand Del Mar, Tercanoglu was with Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at the First Residence as the Director of Food & Beverage.  His past Four Seasons experience also includes positions at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach and Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles.

Originally from Turkey, Ekram is a graduate of the Private Professional School of Hotel and Restaurant Management in Istanbul, where he earned a bachelor's degree.

New Castle names Nora Gomez General Manager of Westport Inn

New Castle Hotels & Resorts has named Nora Gomez General Manager of the 117-room Westport Inn in Westport, Conn.

Gomez previously was the Assistant General Manager of the Hampton Inn in nearby Shelton, where she was part of the team that earned the brand's prestigious Lighthouse Award in its first year and recently claimed Trip Advisor's number one ranking in the market.

A 10-year veteran of the New Castle team, Gomez began her hospitality career as a front desk agent at the Hilton Garden Inn in Norwalk, Conn., earning positions of increasing responsibility since 2003. Recently, she served as part of the company's pre-opening task force for the Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Syracuse. Gomez holds a degree in business administration from Norwalk Community College.

Value Place hires Ronald Burgett as Executive Vice President of Franchise Development

As part of the transition to its next phase of growth, Value Place, one of the largest economy extended-stay hotel brands in the US, is strengthening its management team by adding hotel and hospitality sector veterans to its ranks.

Ronald Burgett joins the company as Executive Vice President of Franchise Development. Prior to joining Value Place, Burgett was the Executive Vice President, Lodging and Brand Development at Red Lion Hotels Corporation. In this role, he spearheaded the creation of the new Leo Hotel Collection brand and was in charge of the growth and development of brands, franchise services, brand management, quality assurance, and franchisee relations. He also held positions at Northcott Hospitality, Smith Dean Burgett, and Choice Hotels International.

The company has strategically hired executives and managers with strong hospitality backgrounds in the past few years. The company's President and COO, Kyle Rogg, brings over 15 years of hotel contracting and payment processing experience, having previously served as an executive with CLC Lodging. Randy Fox, Executive Vice President of Value Place Property Management, offers over 20 years of hotel management experience, most recently having served as Senior Vice President, Operations for Red Roof Inn. In 2014 the company will seek out additional hotel executives to join the team and continue its rapid growth.

As Value Place enters its next phase of development, it's also honoring its past. Value Place Founder Jack DeBoer will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit, occurring Jan. 27 to 29 in Los Angeles. DeBoer is considered the father of extended-stay hotels, and built the first Residence Inn before selling the company to Marriott International in 1987. DeBoer also founded Summerfield Suites and Candlewood Suites.

Value Place's expansion plans for the next three years include the acquisition of land to build corporate-owned hotels in metropolitan markets, including Atlanta, Cleveland, Denver, and southeast Florida, among others.
