Carolyn Turnbull joins the Board of Directors at Peak Hotels and Resorts

Carolyn Turnbull_1Peak Hotels and Resorts Limited (“PHRL”), part owner of Aman Resorts, has announced the appointment of Carolyn Turnbull to the board of directors of PHRL effective immediately. Turnbull, an industry veteran and long-standing executive at Aman Resorts, succeeds Omar Amanat, whose family trust will remain a majority shareholder of PHRL along with Adrian Zecha, Aman’s founder.

As part of Turnbull’s appointment she will also become a representative to the board of directors of Peak Hotels and Resorts Group Limited (“PHRGL”). PHRL has an equity ownership of 35.2% in PHRGL, the joint venture that owns Aman Resorts, and 50% voting control.

Turnbull has over 18 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry and has been instrumental in the strategic positioning of Aman Resorts over the past 10 years. Her most recent position was executive director of global sales at Aman Resorts. She joined Aman Resorts in January 2005. Before joining Aman Resorts, Carolyn contributed to the growth of leading hotel companies including Hyatt International and Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts through various sales and marketing positions.

“Aman Resorts is an exceptional hospitality brand, and through PHRL, I look forward to working with the Board of the joint venture to foster the continued success of Aman,” said Ms. Turnbull. “My goal is to ensure that Aman Resorts is able to continue serving its prestigious guests with the utmost quality while a final resolution to the ongoing litigation is reached.”

Adrian Zecha, founder of Aman Resorts, said: “Carolyn is a wonderful steward of the Aman brand and has my full support in her new director roles. I’ve worked closely with Carolyn for over ten years and I look forward to continuing to work with her to promote the success of Aman’s business.”
