John Bendtsen new GM of Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa Sri Lanka

Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels&Resorts, has announced the appointment of John Bendtsen as general manager of Centara Ceysands Resort&Spa Sri Lanka.

John is Australian and has 21 years of international hospitality industry experience gained from working in Oceanic and Asia, including several general management and regional management roles at leading resorts and hotels around Australia.

He has worked at Oakwood Residence Thonglor in Bangkok, Thailand, and then he joined Centara Hotels&Resorts at Centara Grand Island Resort&Spa Maldives in the position of general manager in 2010, a position he held for two years. Prior to being appointed as general manager of Centara Ceysands Resort&Spa Sri Lanka, John was general manager of Centara Hotels&Resorts in Mauritius.

Centara Ceysands Resort&Spa Sri Lanka is located on the Bentota Peninsula, at the southwest of the island, with the Bentota River on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other.

The resort’s arrival lounge is situated at Aluthgama, on the inland side of the river, with guests travelling across the water by barge, a journey that takes two minutes. The resort has 165 rooms and suites, including family residences, with all the accommodations featuring views across the river, or across the beach and the ocean.

The resort is just a few minutes from Aluthgama railway station. Colombo is reached in less than two hours by road and Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport is 100 kilometers away from the resort.
